Willard MAHOY, Montgomery County farmer died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday at the Carmen Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. Mahoy, 78, had been bedfast since October of 1967. The deceased owned a farm near Darlington in the Potato Creek community. He was widely known for his extensive cattle feeding operations and was a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Potato Creek Methodist Church. A son of George and Margaret Baer Mahoy, he was born in Montgomery County of Feb. 1, 1890. He was married to Freeda Mae Cox in 1914. She preceded him in death in June of 1962. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles Boyer of near Thorntown and Mrs. James Horn and Mrs. Noland Lough, both of near Darlington, four sons, Robert of near Darlington, Charles of Orlando, Fla. And George and Frederick, both of whom live at the family home; a sister, Mrs. Everett Vannice, also of Darlington area; 19 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Thorntown with Revs. A.L. Vermillion and Robert Hansen in charge. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home.
